Pray for Justice Tour 2025: An Evening of Worship and Intercession

Last week, we gathered for a powerful evening of prayer, where Restore Glasgow joined with International Justice Mission (IJM) and 24-7 Prayer on their Pray for Justice Tour. Together, we lifted our voices in worship, lament, and intercession for those trapped in human trafficking and violence around the world. We were graciously hosted by Adelaide Place Baptist Church, in Glasgow city centre.

The evening began with a reminder of why we pray: to align our hearts with God’s justice and intercede for light to break into the darkness. We worshipped, heard testimonies of transformation, and engaged with the stark realities of human trafficking – both globally and here in the UK, where over 120,000 people are estimated to be trapped in some form of human trafficking.

A deeply moving moment came as we reflected on Mara’s story – a young woman deceived, exploited, and trafficked, yet ultimately rescued and restored with the help of IJM. Her journey from suffering to freedom reminded us of the power of prayer and tangible action in the fight against injustice.

Throughout the evening, we participated in prayer stations, lifting up those affected by trafficking, the frontline workers seeking justice, and the policymakers shaping laws for protection and accountability. We lamented the suffering, but we also celebrated the breakthroughs – new anti-trafficking laws, successful rescues, and survivor-led restoration efforts.

Angela from Restore (pictured above) shared about the challenging reality of trafficking happening on our doorstep – often hidden in plain sight. Yet, amidst this darkness, Restore Glasgow exists to shine a light and bring hope. She also introduced our *brand-new booklet*, equipping us to learn and respond – more on this soon!

As we closed, we were reminded that justice is not a moment but a movement. Whether through ongoing prayer, financial support, or advocacy, we are called to continue standing for freedom. If you’d like to join in this mission, consider signing up for IJM’s 25 in 25 prayer journey, check out 24-7 Prayer’s Prayer Resources, and of course stick with us as we continue in the fight against human trafficking in Glasgow.

Justice begins with prayer – and together, we are seeing change happen.
